January Fishing Report
January was a relatively good month for fishing in the area.
The Redfish are schooled up throughout the Marshes from Emerald Isle to Camp Lejeune. There are schools of Reds in the White Oak river and in the areas creeks. These schools have hundreds of fish and can be caught using artificial or live baits. The trick is finding the school. If you dont find a knot of fish, then you are just casting into empty water. This is the time of year that you pick your days and spend most of it looking for the visual signs of Redfish.
Black Drum can be found in the creeks with muddy bottoms and can be caught on cut shrimp on the bottom.
Trout have gone way up the creeks and thinned out. You can find a few little ones in the marsh creeks and some of size in the creeks with muddy bottoms and deeper water.
